BEGINNERS 2 COURSE, 2023, CLASS 8

 This week we revised the topic of physical descriptions. We started by learning the verbs SER and TENER in the present tense:

ser - to be (permanent traits- descriptions, where you are from)

yo soy - I am

tú eres - you are

él / ella es - he/she is

nosotros somos - we are

vosotros sois - you all are

ellos / ellas son - they are

 

tener - to have (belonging)

yo tengo - I have

tú tienes - you have

él / ella tiene - he/she has

nosotros tenemos - we have

vosotros tenéis - you all have

ellos/ellas tienen - they have

 

In pairs, we described a celebrity and the rest of the class had to guess who the person was. Some examples:

 

1.John Sexton: Tiene treinta y siete años. Es alto con el pelo negro y gris. Lleva camiseta verde con el número diez. Es una persona guay. - He is 37. He is tall and his hair is black and grey. He wears a green jersey with the number 10. He is a cool person.

 

2.Michelle Obama: Es una mujer. Ella tiene cincuenta y nueve años. Es alta y guapa. Tiene los ojos marrones. Es morena y tiene el pelo rizado y liso a veces. Ella es muy famosa e inteligente. Su marido se llama Barack.- She is a woman. She is 59. She is tall and pretty. She has brown eyes. She has dark hair. Her hair is curly and straight at times. She is very famous and smart. Her husband is called Barack.

 

3.Jesus: Es un hombre muy famoso. Es alto, delgado. Tiene el pelo largo y liso. Tiene barba (normalmente). Es muy trabajador y muy inteligente. Su padre se llama José y su madre se llama María. Murió con treinta y tres años - He is a famous man. He is tall and slim. His hair is long and straight. He has a beard. He is hardworking and very intelligent. His dad is Joseph and his mum is Mary. He died at 33.

 

4.Michael D.Higgins Es un hombre. Es bajo y tiene el pelo gris. Tiene dos perros grandes. Es el presidente de Irlanda - He is a man. He is short and has grey hair. He has two big dogs. He is the president of Ireland.
