This week we revised the preterite tense - EL PRETÉRITO
We looked at some verbs and we conjugated them into the first person in the past:
pasar (to spend) - pasé (I spent)
tomar (to take) - tomé (I took)
nadar (to swim) - nadé (I swam)
cenar (to have dinner) - cené (I had dinner)
alojarse (to stay) - me alojé (I stayed)
comer (to eat) - comí (I ate)
conocer (to meet) - conocí (I met)
salir (to go out) - salí (I went out)
hablar (to speak) - hablé (I spoke)
beber (to drink) - bebí (I drank)
vivir (to live) - viví (I lived)
levantarse (to get up) - me levanté (I got up)
In groups we worked on the questions on page 18. Some examples:
¿Qué hiciste el fin de semana pasado? - What did you do last weekend?
El fin de semana pasado fui a la playa y caminé con mi perro - Last weekend I went to the beach and walked my dog.
¿Qué hiciste el verano pasado? - What did you do last summer?
No hice mucho. Dormí y descansé. También leí muchos libros - I didn’t do much. I slept and chilled. I also read a lot of books.
¿Qué hiciste anoche? - What did you do last night?
Anoche cené pescado y vi la televisión - Last night I had fish for dinner and watched TV
¿Qué hiciste hace una hora? - What did you do an hour ago?
Hace una hora llegué a la universidad y comencé mi clase de español - An hour ago I arrived at the college and started my Spanish class.
Other new verbs we learnt:
jugar (to play) - jugué (I played)
montar a caballo (to ride a horse) - monté a caballo (I rode a horse)
lo pasé genial / lo pasé bomba - I had a great time
