Clase 4
In this
class we revised talking about el colegio and added more about las reglas – rules
Está prohibido utilizar el móvil en la clase
Tenemos que llevar el uniforme siempre.
We then
talked about technology – la tecnología – on p.17. Here we matched the Spanish to the English and then we asked and answered the
questions on p.18.
We then went
on to look at how to answer the “synonym” questions on p.19, 20 and 21. The text
is from 2009 and is about an early addiction that some people had to mobile phones.
“colgados” is slang for “addicted”.
The
questions here involve finding an expression in the text that means the same as
the one given in the question. There are a number of clues that we can use to
find the correct expression….
1. Grammar –
if the verb is in the infinitive in the question, it is 99% also in the
infinitive in the required expression in the text. Also if it is in the present
tense, or the perfect or the future, the same applies. This helps us narrow
down the possibilities.
2. Synonyms –
we need to locate a word in the text that means the same as one of the words in
the question – in exercise “a” on p.20, for example, “hace unos años” means the
same as “unos años atrás”. This helps us find the answer.
For homework
we have to do the exercises on p.20 and 21.
