We learnt the vocabulary about family:

BEGINNERS 2 COURSE, AUTUMN 2022, CLASS 1

 In our first lesson of our beginners plus course, we learnt some useful expressions that we put into practice during the whole class.

¿Cómo se dice…? – How do you say…?

¿Cómo se escribe…? – How do you write…?

¿Qué significa…? – What does … mean?

Un momento, ¿puedes repetir? – Hold on a moment, can you repeat?

Más despacio, por favor – Slower, please.

Vamos a hablar… vamos a estudiar… vamos a repasar… vamos a aprender … - we are going to talk about… we are going to study… we are going to revise…. We are going to learn… 

We revised some basic questions and we answered them in pairs. Then we shared our answers.

¿Dónde vives? – Where do you live?

¿Estás casado /casada? – Are you married?

¿Tienes hijos / hermanos o hermanas / nietos? – Do you have children/brothers and sisters/ grandchildren?

 In our first class, we introduced ourselves and we talked briefly about our knowledge of the Spanish language and culture.

We also talked about the Spanish pronunciation and we saw some examples of words with those particular pronunciations. 

“ñ” in España (Spain), uña (nail), niño (child)

“ll” in lluvia (rain), llave (key), llamar (call, ring)

“j, g” in mujer  (woman), gente (people) genio (genious)

“q” in queso (cheese) que (what)

“r, rr” in perro  (dog) borracho (drunk), ratón (mouse) 

“h” in hola (hello) hielo (ice), hermano (brother)

“v” in volver  (go back, come back), volar (fly), ver (see)

“c, z” in cien (one hundred), zapato (shoe), diez (ten)

We learnt the basic introductions and we practiced them in pairs.

AUTUMN SPANISH COURSES, 2022

We are back with our Autumn Spanish courses.     

We have a range of courses available at all levels, starting the week of September 26^th.

As always, we focus on practical spoken Spanish for use in the Spanish-speaking world.

All courses cost €130 (or €110 for students or the unwaged – please email spanishinsligo@gmail.com for the discount)

Location:

All courses take place in the Atlantic Technological University (formerly Sligo IT)

Time, Dates and Duration:

All classes are one hour and fifteen minutes long – from 7.30pm to 8.45pm.

Classes start the week of September 26^th. All courses are for 10 weeks.

Guide to Levels

Beginner: For those who have no Spanish and want to start from the beginning.

Beginners + : For those who have done one or two Beginner courses in the past.

Elementary: For those who have done some Spanish in the past, who know most of the basics but who want to move on to a higher level.

Pre-Intermediate: For those who have been studying for a few years, who know a lot of the basics and who can communicate to a certain extent.

Intermediate: Our highest level. In this class, students can already express themselves in Spanish, communicate and converse, though they will need help with grammar and more vocabulary.
