Quizás están buscando una solución al problema. Quizás el perro necesita una operación.
They might be looking for a solution. Maybe the dog needs surgery.
- ¿Por qué crees que el dueño del animal ha acudido a esta persona?
El veterinario es un profesional y el dueño estaba muy preocupado
The vet is a professional and the owner was very worried.
- ¿Qué crees que va a ocurrir después? ¿Cómo va a terminar la situación?
Cuando el perro se recupere, volverá a casa con sus dueños
When the dog has gotten better, they will return home with their owners.
In the second part of the class, we reacted to problems posed on page 15. Sample answers:
- A: Estoy agotada y la verdad es que no me apetece ir a comprar algo contigo.
I am wrecked and the truth is that I don't feel like going shopping with you.
B: ¡Vaya! No te preocupes que puedo ir yo sola.
Oh no! Don't worry. I can go by myself.
- A: Nunca dejo el coche en doble fila y no me salto los semáforos, pero he recibido una notificación de Tráfico para acudir al juzgado.
I never double park and I don't skip the traffic lights, but I have received a notification from the Traffic Police Headquarters to go to court.
B: Cálmate, seguro que es un error. Ve y averigua que pasó.
Calm down, I am sure it is a mistake. Go and find out what happened.
- A: Estoy muy agobiado porque la situación familiar en casa es muy difícil. El domingo tengo que ir a una comida con todos y no sé qué hacer.
I am very overwhelmed because the family situation is very difficult. On Sunday I have to go to a family lunch with everyone and I don't know what to do.
B: Si yo fuera tú, evitaría ir. ¡Quizás puedes inventarte una excusa!
If I were you, I would avoid going. Perhaps you can make up an excuse!
In the last part of the class, we did the listening activity on page 19:
- A: Las cervezas son mi pasión. ¡Tómate una conmigo!
Beers are my passion. Get one with me!
- B: Si eres tan goloso como yo, ¿qué tal si nos vemos por allí alguna vez?
If you have a sweet tooth as I do, how about if we meet there some time?
- C: Saborea el mejor café solo, que nadie te moleste
Savour the best coffee alone, don't let anyone bother you.
- D: 'Come como quieras, pero come barato' es su lema. ¿Te animas a venir?
'Eat as you like, but eat cheap' is their motto. Do you feel like coming?
- E: Voy a seguir viajando por muchas ciudades y sería padre conocer otros lugares donde estar con otras personas. ¿Me aconsejas alguno parecido a este en tu ciudad?
I am going to keep travelling around many cities and it would be great to know other places where I can be with other people. Can you recommend me a similiar one in your city?
