This week we started by revising the topic of the future tense - EL FUTURO.
In pairs, we worked on the oral activity on page 17.
Vamos a planear unas vacaciones - We are going to plan a holiday.
¿A dónde vais a ir? - Where are you going?
¿Cuándo vais a ir? - When are you going?
¿Cómo vais a viajar? - How are you going to travel?
¿Cuánto tiempo vais a estar allí? - How long are you going to be there?
¿Qué vais a hacer allí? - What are you going to do there?
Sample answers:
1.Vamos a visitar Barcelona - We are going to visit Barcelona
Vamos en mayo porque queremos ver un partido del equipo F.C. Barcelona - We are going in May because we want to see a game from the team Barcelona.
Vamos a tomar un avión y después vamos a usar un tren - We are going to take a plane and then we are going to use a train
Vamos a usar el autobús turístico - We are going to use the tourist bus.
2. Vamos a ir a Sudamérica. Vamos a ir en el otoño - We are going to South America in the fall
Vamos a ir para seis meses - We are going for six months
Vamos a hacer muchas cosas, como nadar en el mar, caminar en las montañas, ver muchos sitios interesantes y vamos a comer mucha comida deliciosa - We are going to do a lot of things, like swimming in the sea, walking in the mountains, see a lot of interesting places and we are going to eat a lot of delicious food.
In the second part of the class, we talked about superstitions on pages 19 and 20.
un paraguas - an umbrella
un gato negro - a black cat
el número trece - the number 13
tirar la sal - throw the salt
romper un espejo - break a mirror
una escalera - a ladder
un trébol de cuatro hojas - a four leaf clover
una herradura - a horse shoe
We talked about the most common superstitions by using the future tense:
En España, si ves un gato negro, vas a tener mala suerte - In Spain, if you see a black cat, you are going to have bad luck
Si encuentras un trébol de cuatro hojas, vas a tener buena suerte - If you find a four leaf clover, you are going to have good luck
Si tiras la sal, vas a tener mala suerte, pero si tiras la sal por encima de los hombros, vas a tener buena suerte - If you throw the salt you are going to have bad luck, but if you throw the salt about your shoulders, you are going to have good luck.
Si colocas una herradura sobre la puerta, vas a tener buena suerte - If you place a horseshoe above the door, you are going to have good luck
Si rompes un espejo vas a tener siete años de mala suerte - If you break a mirror, you are going to have seven years of bad luck
In the last part of the class we did the listening activity on pages 20 and 21.
Mi tía es muy supersticiosa - My aunt is very superstitious
no le gusta nada el color amarillo - She does not like the colour yellow
Por eso, no hay nada en su casa de color amarillo - That is why there is nothing yellow in her house
Nunca compra vestidos amarillos - She never buys yellow dresses
Por las mañanas siempre se levanta con el pie derecho - In the mornings, she always gets up by placing the right foot on the floor first
Mi madre dice que si le posa una mosca en la nariz, recibirá una carta - My mum says that if a fly lands on her nose, she will receive a letter
A mi abuela hay dos cosas que no le gusta ver - My granny does not like to see two things
un sombrero sobre la cama y un paraguas abierto dentro de la casa - a hat on the bed and an open umbrella inside the house.
