ELEMENTARY COURSE, 2021, CLASS 2

 This week we revised the verbs SER and ESTAR by learning some vocabulary about descriptions on page 7:

Exercise 7

Cariñoso/a – loving

Egoísta – selfish

Generoso/a – generous

Maleducado/a – bad mannered

Tranquilo/a – quiet

Divertido/a – fun

Sociable – sociable

Perezoso/a – lazy

Tímido/a – shy

Exercise 6

1.No me importan los demás. Solo pienso en mi – I don’t care about others. I only think of myself.

2.Me encanta regalar cosas a los demás – I love giving other presents.

3.La gente se ríe mucho conmigo – People laugh a lot with me.

4.Me gusta conocer gente nueva – I love meeting new people.

5.No me gusta hablar con gente que no conozco – I don’t like to talk to people I don’t know.

6.No me gusta nada trabajar – I don’t like to work at all.

7.Me gusta abrazar a la gente, decirle que la quiero. – I like to hug people, tell them I love them.

8.Nunca saludo a los conocidos, ni digo ‘gracias’ ni ‘por favor’. – I never greet the people I know, I don’t say ‘thanks’ or ‘please’.

9.No me pongo nerviosa casi nunca – I hardly ever get nervous.

 

Exercise 8:

El zorro es astuto – The fox is clever

El loro es hablador – the parrot is chatty

El koala es dormilón – The koala is sleepy

El león es fuerte – The lion is strong.

El búho es sabio – The owl is wise.

La hormiga es trabajadora – The ant is hard-working

El perro es leal – The dog is loyal.

 

In the last part of the class, we worked on exercise 9:

1.Mis primos hoy no están contentos – My cousins today are not happy.

2.Hoy mi hermana está muy nerviosa por su boda – Today my sister is very nervous because of her wedding.

3.Alfredo y Lucía son bastante egoístas, solo piensan en ellos mismos – Alfredo and Lucía are quite selfish, they only think about themselves.

4.Por las mañanas, siempre estoy contento, pero por las tardes estoy cansado. – In the mornings I am always happy but in the evenings I am tired.

5.¿Quién es esa señora? Es una pesada. – Who is that woman? She is very annoying.

6.Después de la siesta, los niños están muy tranquilos – After the nap, the kids are very quiet.

7.¿Tú sabes qué le pasa hoy a Pablo? Está muy serio. – Do you know what is wrong with Pablo today? He looks very serious.

8.Mi hija Elena, increíblemente, antes de los exámenes está muy tranquila – My daughter Elena, incredibly, before the exams she is very calm.

9.¿Por qué estás preocupada? – Why are you worried?

10.¡Estoy harta de ver esta habitación tan desordenada! – I am sick of seeing this room so untidy!
